🐾Pack Mentality Spotlight: Luke Freeman of Freeman Electrical🐾

Why We’re Proud to Have Luke in the Jackal Pack

Some people join Jackal Workwear for the kit. Others join for the community. For Luke Freeman of Freeman Electrical, it’s both — and more.

After watching the hype build, seeing the pride tradies take in wearing the Jackal, and following the stories we share, Luke knew he wanted in. He’s got the work ethic, the banter, and the passion for the trade that make him a perfect fit for the Pack.

Q&A with Luke Freeman

Why Did You Join The Pack?

ā€œBeen seeing the stories, the hype, and how much pride everyone’s got wearing Jackal — just made me want to be part of it. It’s more than workwear now… it’s a movement šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ā€

For Luke, Jackal is more than clothes — it’s about being part of something bigger, a movement that connects tradespeople and celebrates what we do.

Ā

What Made You Get Into the Trade?

ā€œYear 10 work experience — my dad threw me in with his mate at PSP Electrical. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, but I loved it from day one. Been hooked ever since.ā€

Luke’s spark (literally) started young — and from that first taster he never looked back.

Ā

Weirdest Thing That’s Happened On-Site?

ā€œWatching my mate full-send a scissor lift straight into a brand-new wall… that I’d just finished running LED strip on. The silence after was unreal šŸ˜‚ā€

Some days you’re smashing the job… some days you’re smashing the wall.

Ā

If You Were a Tool, What Would You Be?

ā€œMulti-tool. Loud, always vibrating, and somehow still essential.ā€

Versatile and built for anything — Luke brings that same energy to the trade.

Ā

Jackal Design You Want to See Next?

ā€œYou need a design for each trade — sparkys, plumbers, chippies. Imagine your wolf repping each one: wiring a fuseboard, soldering pipes… would go hard.ā€

Luke’s idea? Trade-specific Jackal designs with the wolf in action for every craft.

Luke’s Question for The Pack

ā€œWould you ever do a collab drop with another creator or trade brand? A proper crossover piece could be šŸ”„ā€

Industry Insights: Luke on Tool Theft & Mental Health

Ā

Tool Theft — The Constant Worry

ā€œTool theft is honestly one of the biggest worries I’ve got. I check my van constantly — every stop, every job. Alarms, deadlocks, tools in every night, but it still plays on my mind. The worst part? Even if you do everything right, the police can’t (or won’t) do much. Then you see stolen gear at a car boot sale and no one bats an eyelid. Even choosing somewhere to live, I’m thinking about parking against a wall or being able to carry tools inside. I know lads who’ve been cleaned out and nearly lost their business. It’s not just tools — it’s your livelihood.ā€

Luke’s words echo so many in the trade — this isn’t paranoia, it’s a daily reality. And it’s why we keep supporting the #StopToolTheft movement.

Ā

Mental Health in the Trades

ā€œI’m lucky I’ve not struggled myself, but I’ve seen the pressure this trade can put on people — long days, bad weather, no breaks, work going quiet. A lot of lads just bottle it up because that’s the culture — ā€˜get on with it.’ We need to change that. It should be normal to say you’re not alright. We’ve got to check in more, make it OK to chat — even if it’s just over a brew or in the van after a shift.ā€

Luke’s insight is clear — we can all play a part in making the trade more supportive and open about mental health.
