🐾Pack Mentality Spotlight: J1 (Jackal Workwear) 🐾

Intro

At Jackal Workwear, Pack Mentality isn’t just a motto—it’s the heart of everything we do. This spotlight features J2, one of the original Jackals, sharing exactly how The Pack started, what drives it forward, and why community, honesty, mental health, and tool theft matter most.

Q&A with J1

Why did you start The Pack?

“It all started from a random chat that sparked an idea — what if tradies could wear gear that actually meant something? Clothing that looked good, supported charities that support our own, and did it all anonymously. That’s what hooked me — knowing people would buy because they loved the design or the cause, not because of who was behind it. From that moment, it was full steam ahead… and Jackal Workwear was born.

What made you get into the trade?

“Family — it’s simple. It’s in my blood; I was born into it

If you were a tool, what would you be and why?

“if I were a tool, I’d be a tape measure — precise, detail-oriented, and always ready to give it to you straight

What Jackal design do you want to see next and why?

Honestly, I just love the requests that come in — there’s no single person deciding what’s next. It’s a mix of what’s happening in the industry, what’s going on in the world, and what you guys are talking about. This company isn’t just J1 and J2 — it’s everyone.”

Your question for The Pack

“Whats the first thing on your bucket list?”

Industry Insights

Mental Health in Construction

“We talk about this loudly — and often — because it’s something we deeply care about. Raising awareness, creating safe spaces… yes, there’s been progress, but it’s still not enough, and we won’t stop speaking up. Jackal will always be a place that’s inclusive to everyone. Good day or bad day, our inbox is always open — zero judgement, always support.”

Tool Theft

“Tool theft and mental health are so closely connected — and I’m genuinely in awe of the work Frankie, Shoaib, and everyone involved has done to raise awareness. The way they’re supporting those affected and helping victims get their tools back is incredible. There’s still a long road ahead, but I know they’ll always have endless backing for what they’re doing. As an industry, we’ll always stand united in the fight against it.”

Questions from The Pack

What’s your role at Jackal?

Honestly, we don’t really split roles — we both take responsibility for the brand as a whole. We bounce ideas off each other for designs, social media, and what’s coming next. If I had to pick one specific role though… it’s probably keeping J2 in line and stopping them from getting too carried away with some of his wild ideas! 😂

Best and Worst parts of running this brand?

The best part? Hands down, it’s seeing your reactions — supporting us without even knowing who we are, just coming together because you genuinely like what we do. In a world where social media can be toxic and the industry can be tough on small brands, you’ve shown us nothing but support, completely unbiased — and for that, I’m truly thankful.

If I had to pick a downside, it’s that we can’t always create everything you ask for. We’d love to, but with us all running our own businesses alongside this, plus copyright and legal restrictions, sometimes it’s just not possible — as much as we’d love to make it happen for you!

Scariest thing I’ve ever done?

Probably calling out someone close to me. I knew they were living a lie — to themselves and everyone around them — and I’m just not the type to sit back and stay quiet. Speaking hard truths isn’t easy, but it’s something I’ll always do.

Conclusion

This chat with J1 dives into what makes Jackal Workwear more than just clothing — it’s a movement. Born from a random conversation, the brand stands for designs that matter, supporting charities and the people behind the tools.

For J1, the trade is family and Jackal is a team effort — shaped by The Pack, inspired by what’s happening in the industry, and driven by purpose. From raising awareness around mental health and tool theft to creating a truly inclusive space, Jackal is built on honesty, unity, and heart.

At the end of the day, Jackal isn’t just J1 and J2 — it’s everyone who believes in what they’re doing.
