🐾 Pack Mentality Blog: Spotlight on Jaimie of Nailedit Tavi 🐾

Ā

Jaimie from NailedIt Tavi has been with Jackal since day one-a true original in The Pack. He’s not just a supporter; he’s one of the very few who actually knows who all the Jackals are (which says a lot about how much we trust and value him as a person… that, and he wouldn’t stop guessing until he figured it out).Ā

Ā

From the start, Jaimie has embodied what Jackal stands for: authenticity, community, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. He’s always championed the idea that it’s okay to be different and to do things your own way-something we believe in wholeheartedly at Jackal. Whether he’s sharing honest stories from site, pushing for better mental health support in construction, or calling out the need for real change around tool theft, Jaimie brings passion and integrity to everything he does.Ā

Ā

We’re proud to have him in The Pack, and even prouder to call him a friend of Jackal.Ā

Ā

Why did you join The Pack?Ā

"Because you stand for everything we do! We need to be in this pack to show people it’s okay to be different. Just do you!! As a bonus also, the people behind the screen and awesome šŸ˜"Ā

Ā

What made you get into the trade?Ā

"My old man said when I hit 16 (before I got offered a semi pro football contract) get a trade behind you as it’s always something to fall back on. Blow me down, for once he was right šŸ˜‚"Ā

Ā

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on-site?Ā

"Saw a guy intentionally cut the tip of his finger off in a miter saw so he could get pain killers from the doc because his prescription ran out and … I would never do heroin he weirdly said ….?Ā
At this point heroin is probably safer than cutting limbs off for pills"Ā

Ā

If you were a tool, what would you be and why?Ā

"Phillips screwdriver. Almost always the wrong size and almost always disappointing."Ā

Ā

What Jackal design do you want to see next and why?Ā

"Has to be something along the lines of choosing your own path and doing what works for you. You are allowed to be you and it’s okay to be you. Everyone follows trends but you don’t have to just to fit in. Do you, and people will fit around you!"Ā

Industry InsightsĀ

Mental health in construction:Ā
"It is crucial to raise awareness about mental health issues and educate workers, supervisors, and management. Doing so will promote the idea that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, which is an essential foundation pillar in providing assistance to construction workers."Ā

Tool theft:Ā
"Not personally experienced it yet due to the area we live in but it makes me feel angry and disgusted knowing the value of what’s in our vans and the damage it leaves to workers simply trying to feed there family and better there lives…. after all that’s why we go to work! The law has to change, something needs to be done. Vote me in and I’ll sort it. You wouldn’t go into an office and steal 1,000 computers and get away with it, so why are people in our place of work loosing everything and nothings changing 😔"Ā

Ā

Jaimie’s story is a reminder that being yourself, speaking up, and supporting each other is what The Pack is all about. Stay tuned for more real voices from the trade, right here.Ā
