Q&A with Steve: In His Own Words
Why Did You Join the Pack?
"I joined the pack because of the cool designs and the charity based stuff! Smashing it š"
Steve didnāt just spot good gearāhe saw a community doing good, supporting causes, and standing out for all the right reasons.
Ā
What Made You Get into the Trade?
"I got into the trade mainly because I hated school as I have ADHD (canāt sit still, canāt focus) but for some reason give me a practical problem to fix with your hands and Iām on it. Plus I really enjoy doing different things which is what a trade gives you."
Itās not about fitting the mouldāitās about finding your space. The trade gave Steve freedom, variety, and a place where he could channel that restless energy to build, solve, and create.

Whatās the Weirdest Thing Thatās Ever Happened On-Site?
"I fell through a ceiling into a bathroom once. Landed right next to the boss š."
Jobsites are unpredictableāSteveās got the stories (and sense of humour) to prove it. It's these moments that stick with you, and in the Pack, theyāre always part of the tale.
Ā
If You Were a Tool, What Would You Be and Why?
"I would be a multi-toolāloud and all over the place."
Versatile, high energy, and impossible to missāSteve mirrors the multi-tool: whatever the challenge, wherever the action, heās in the thick of it.
What Jackal Design Do You Want to See Next?
"I am the Jackal stuff."

Industry Insights: Steveās Take on Key Issues
Mental Health in Construction
"My best friend got into a really dark place last year. Which really opened my eyes to mental health and since joining Instagram and talking to other tradies just shows how many other people deal with their mental health every day."
Steveās story is a call to look out for our mates and ourselves. Heās open about how seeing a friend struggle changed his perspective and highlights just how common these challenges areāreminding us to check in, listen, and keep the conversation going.
Ā
Tool Theft
"I had my van done about 8 years ago before I ran my own business so it didnāt affect me too much. But I still havenāt been able to replace all those little hand tools you collect over the years."
Tool theft hits hard and lingersāsometimes itās not the big items, but the hard-won kits and trusted old favourites you canāt easily replace. Steveās experience brings home why respect and vigilance matter so much in the trade.
