Why We’re Proud to Run with Steve

At Jackal, being part of the Pack is about more than quality kit—it’s about bringing together people who look out for each other, keep it honest, and stay committed to something bigger. Steve does all that and more. His passion for craft, openness about challenges, and willingness to support charity work make him a standout member of our crew.

He brings that relentless spark and relentless energy everywhere he goes. With Steve on board, the Pack is louder, stronger, and always up for whatever the job—or life—throws at us.

Q&A with Steve: In His Own Words

Why Did You Join the Pack?

"I joined the pack because of the cool designs and the charity based stuff! Smashing it šŸ‘Š"

Steve didn’t just spot good gear—he saw a community doing good, supporting causes, and standing out for all the right reasons.

Ā

What Made You Get into the Trade?

"I got into the trade mainly because I hated school as I have ADHD (can’t sit still, can’t focus) but for some reason give me a practical problem to fix with your hands and I’m on it. Plus I really enjoy doing different things which is what a trade gives you."

It’s not about fitting the mould—it’s about finding your space. The trade gave Steve freedom, variety, and a place where he could channel that restless energy to build, solve, and create.

What’s the Weirdest Thing That’s Ever Happened On-Site?

"I fell through a ceiling into a bathroom once. Landed right next to the boss šŸ˜‚."

Jobsites are unpredictable—Steve’s got the stories (and sense of humour) to prove it. It's these moments that stick with you, and in the Pack, they’re always part of the tale.

Ā

If You Were a Tool, What Would You Be and Why?

"I would be a multi-tool—loud and all over the place."

Versatile, high energy, and impossible to miss—Steve mirrors the multi-tool: whatever the challenge, wherever the action, he’s in the thick of it.

What Jackal Design Do You Want to See Next?

"I am the Jackal stuff."

Industry Insights: Steve’s Take on Key Issues

Mental Health in Construction

"My best friend got into a really dark place last year. Which really opened my eyes to mental health and since joining Instagram and talking to other tradies just shows how many other people deal with their mental health every day."

Steve’s story is a call to look out for our mates and ourselves. He’s open about how seeing a friend struggle changed his perspective and highlights just how common these challenges are—reminding us to check in, listen, and keep the conversation going.

Ā

Tool Theft

"I had my van done about 8 years ago before I ran my own business so it didn’t affect me too much. But I still haven’t been able to replace all those little hand tools you collect over the years."

Tool theft hits hard and lingers—sometimes it’s not the big items, but the hard-won kits and trusted old favourites you can’t easily replace. Steve’s experience brings home why respect and vigilance matter so much in the trade.

The Pack Mentality: What Steve Brings to the Table

Steve’s journey isn’t just about joinery or project management—it’s about finding where you fit, standing up for causes, and bringing honesty to the front, whether on-site or online. By sharing his wins (and wipeouts), advocating for mental health, and backing the Pack’s values every day, Steve reminds us that the best crews look after each other and keep it real.

If you catch him on-site or online, give him a shout—he’ll be the loud one with a laugh, a story, and the drive to pull everyone forward.

Thanks, Steve. Proud to have you in the Pack.
